As always, I have done my best to find the Hugo Nominated Short Stories and Novelettes that are available free online and post the links here, for the convenience of my book club.
Short Stories
“On A Spiritual Plain”, Lou Antonelli (also in pdf)
“The Parliament of Beasts and Birds”, John C. Wright
“A Single Samurai”, Steven Diamond – this doesn’t appear to be available free online
“Totaled”, Kary English
“Turncoat”, Steve Rzasa
The Short Stories are all Puppy-slate works.
Novelettes
“Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust, Earth to Alluvium”, Gray Rinehart
“Championship B’tok”, Edward M. Lerner
“The Day the World Turned Upside Down”, Thomas Olde Heuvelt, Lia Belt translator (audio version available at same link) – The only non-Puppy work in this category.
“The Journeyman: In the Stone House”, Michael F. Flynn
“The Triple Sun: A Golden Age Tale”, Rajnar Vajra
Y’all bad-mouthed “Elves Hate Jesus” an awful lot, but it wasn’t as boring as “Thesaurus Animal Farm”
Wright really captured the biblical voice by being boring and using unnecessarily obscure words like “couchant”.
The Steven Diamond story was on the Sad Puppies slate. IIRC, it was not on the Rabid Puppies slate. The Rabid Puppies choice was nominated, then declared ineligible and replaced with the Sad Puppies choice.
Well damn. Thank you, I’ve updated the post.
Yes, “A Single Samurai” is, as Aaron Hughes notes, on the Sad Puppy Slate.

You want to understand why so many paid $40 to vote in this Hugo thing, read “The Day The World Turned Upside Down” and then read “Championship B’Tok” or “The Parliament of Beasts and Birds”. Or, ghod forbid, both.
Encapsulated the whole thing right there.
I don’t think you’re being fair to Parliament, honestly. I think it’s good, and you should give it a chance. But yeah, I know exactly what you mean. You can’t even compare B’Tok to Upside Down, they’re in completely different leagues. Reading them makes it so sadly obviously that the Puppies didn’t bother to read their slate at all before voting for it. Maybe next year they’ll choose someone with taste to write up their slate for them.
